This is a rare opportunity to experience the delights of living in an 18th century Tuscan apartment set inside a magnificent period house.

Villa Salvetti was built in the eighteenth century on the foundations of a former hospital that belonged to a church from the eleventh century.

Both are mentioned in the famous book Via Francigena, this describes the old pilgrim's route/way to Rome which leads along the property.

During the napoleonic age the villa belonged to Paolina Bonaparte and in the nineteenth century the sculptor Salvetti bought the villa from the famous aviator Carlo Del Prete.

The apartment comes with access to a swimming pool in the property's garden. This is ideal for two adults and two children or for a couple who want to relax in a peaceful tranquil setting.

Location

The distance to Lucca is about 5 km, public-open air swimming pool is at 1 km and the mediterrian sea is at 20 km. There is a 5 min. walk to the village where you will find shops for all your daily purchases and there are at least 50 restaurants in Lucca.

Lucca is the most wonderful small town; its famous walls enclose a place that can be walked or cycled with ease yet remains full of secrets.One of Italy's finest mediaeval treasures, the centre is unspoilt and is sprinkled with palazzi, towers and almost countless splendid churches. The surrounding hills produce some excellent wines and arguably the finest olive oil anywhere, whilst the beaches and nightlife are but a small hop away. You can visit the house where Giacomo Puccini was born or visit the famous Villas of Napoleons sisters.

The apartment is part of a family residence divided into two parts, each with its own driveway and parking space. The apartment is on the ground floor.

Gas and electricity are inclusive. You are advised to hire a car to get the full benefit of sightseeing and to visit local restaurants etc.
